Oakmere explored the School forest for adjective inspiration to help with their writing skills in class.

First Oakmere brainstormed in class together how they could describe a forest.  They thought of lots of ideas, but knew there were more words to explore!  So they put on their jackets and headed off into the forest using their senses to really explore the magical wonder it holds.

The children's use of vocabulary grew and grew in the circle and we came back into class with a big list to add to the white board in class.  Great work Oakmere! Their imagination skills were fantastic to see, we were all very proud of them.

In maths we have been learning about halves and quarters.  We used lots of practical activities to strengthen their understanding, using shapes to fold, draw and food to chop and eat!  Try it at home at the dinner table, it's great fun!

Mrs Price came into class this week to introduce peer massage. The children really enjoyed following the colourful posters and said they felt the benefit of relaxation by giving the massage as well as receiving the massage from their friends.  It's great to have time to relax.

Next Thursday 17th May, it is our turn to hold collective worship at St Peter's Church.  It begins at 9am for approx 30 minutes, all Oakmere families are warmly invited to attend.  An eezee trip message will go out to you shortly with more information.  Please pop in and speak to us if you have any questions.

Thank you once again for a wonderful week of homework and thank you for the continued support with their phonics work and reading.

We wish you a happy and sunny weekend,

Mrs Birks and Mr Ashworth.
