This week Pickmere have had a few opportunities to take their learning outside of the classroom!

On the first day back of term, KS2 were treated to a performance lead by the British Touring Opera. It was a fantastic production based upon the first animal that was ever sent to space!

In topic, children had to find all of the clues that were dotted around the outside area and use these to create a chronological timeline which represents the life of Nelson Mandela. Children will be learning all about Nelson Mandela in both topic and literacy lessons.

Despite the rain, we also managed to sneak away to the school forest area for the afternoon on Thursday. Children have been learning about changes in materials during their science lessons this term. When up in the forest area, we managed to get a fire going and we tested different materials to see which would burn.

In maths, we have been diving into multiplication – specifically multiples and factors. Children thoroughly enjoyed our problem-solving lesson which we had on Thursday morning.

Enjoy the rest of your week and have a lovely weekend
