All about Autumn

This week Sandymere have been learning all about autumn. We went on an Autumn walk around the school grounds and found loads of fantastic seasonal changes to write about. In Science we have been learning all about the effects of forces. We have also learnt about place value and the importance of zero.

Newsletter 20 July 2016

Dear Parents or Carers                                                                        20 July 2016

Another school year draws to a close and what a successful one it has been for all at Delamere Academy. We have nearly built a Hobbit House, held a great Beer Festival, played at Leicester City and won more sporting competitions than ever in our history. Our Year Two children camped overnight and our Year Six children went surfing. The Foxes raised just short of £1000 for Alder Hey and the Squirrels grew their own plants to raise money for North West Air Ambulance. Some took part in triathlons, all represented the school in a sport at intra or inter school level and all children have done a little bit of reading, writing and maths. Most importantly our results at all levels throughout school are second to none.

Today, we held our annual Red Carpet Awards Ceremony in which we presented a variety of awards from ‘Man of Steel’ to ‘I wish I’d thought of that’. Each child strutted the red carpet and several got a go on our surf machine! Have a look at the pictures on Twitter. But regardless of whether your child won an award or not, all have achieved and as parents you should feel very proud of all that they do at school and how hard they all work. Good luck to all our Year 6’s who head off to High School today and they can go forward knowing that the results they achieved this year, in much harder new tests, are exceptional. I would like to take the opportunity to wish you all the best in the future and please come back and visit if you get a chance.
