Pickmere Homework

Pickmere Home Learning 2019 - 2020

A home learning grid will be set via the Pickmere google classroom each half term. Please check your nunsmere email address as an invitation to the Pickmere classroom has been sent across.

Over the course of the half term you need to complete all six tasks and email them over to Miss Wild via the pickmereclass email. Any tasks that require you to complete tasks online (my maths, purple mash or TTRS) do not need sending as we can check these remotely.

You will have a sticker on the inside of your reading diary, this will let you know whether you are group 1 or 2 for spellings.

You need to choose ONE task per week and hand this into school every Friday. Homework is to be handed in electronically via the following email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Each half term the children will have:

  • 2 pieces of maths
  • 2 pieces of literacy
  • 2 topic/science/RE/ personal development

Each week the children will also have:

  • Weekly Spellings
  • 15 minutes TT Rockstars practise
  • Reading to an adult at least 3x per week at home

You can also log in to Purple Mash at home.

Weekly spelling and timestables tests will be done on a Friday.

Thank you

Miss Wild

Sandymere Homework

Whatever you’re buying to keep the kids entertained at half term – activities, days out, arts and craft supplies – help us raise funds at no extra cost with @easyuk https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/delamereacademy/

We'd like to tell you about a new way you can raise funds for Delamere Academy when you are shopping online, at no extra cost to you.

Initially, you need to register for free at http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/delamereacademy and then you use the links from that site to take you to your online retailer. You shop directly with the retailer as you would normally, but the retailer will give school a percentage of whatever is spent. There are over 2,000 shops on the site including big names such as Amazon, M&S, Debenhams, John Lewis, Argos, ToysRUs, ELC and many more. It's also worth noting that office suppliers such as Viking and Euroffice are on there so those of you who buy office stationery can do that through the site too and help raise funds for school.

Easyfundraising is a really easy site to use, and we know the system is working as we already have 3 users and funds are starting to be raised. Other local schools use the scheme too and we know it is safe.

Using the site is really easy, but here's some help for those that need it:

Registering when visiting the site for the first time

  • Enter http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/delamereacademy into your browser
  • Click on green box titled "Yes, sign me up"
  • This takes you to the registration page, complete your details, choose a password, and tick box for "I agree to terms"
  • Click "register"

Subsequent visits

  • Enter http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/delamereacademy into your browser
Click 'login'(it's in the top right-hand corner of the screen), enter your registered email address and password.
Find your retailer by either using the search box at the top of the screen or click on the 'categories' or 'retailer' tabs to brows the list of retailers.
When you've found your retailer, click the orange "Go shopping" tab and it will take you through to the retailer's site where you purchase your goods

It's an idea to bookmark the site or save it as a home page so you remember to go through it when shopping online. As long as you go through the Easyfundraising website, the money raised will come to Delamere Academy.

Many thanks for your support

Admission arrangements

Changes to our appeals procedure
We have been monitoring Government guidance about how to manage the impact of the Coronavirus (Covid19) outbreak. Unfortunately, following the recent announcement by the Prime Minister it has been necessary for us to temporarily suspend Appeal Panel Hearings. As you will be aware schools are currently closed.  In addition, Independent Appeal Panel members are unpaid, trained volunteers.  This unfortunately means that there will now be unavoidable delays to progressing and hearing appeals this year due to the Coronavirus outbreak. If you lodge an appeal, we will contact you with a date as soon as we are able and pending advice from the Department for Education about how Appeals are to be administered in this unprecedented time and also the timescale for when they will take place. This information will be updated as and when Government directions are received
Our Policy
Our admissions policy sets out the information parents require to apply for a school place. Our Planned Admission number (PAN) is 24.As from September 2017 the school no longer uses catchment area as a determining factor in our admission process. Should you have any questions regarding the policy or would like to talk about your child attending the Academy please contact the school office.
Admissions arrangements for pupils with SEN or disabilities
The school's admissions arrangements are determined by the Governing Body. No pupil will be refused admission to the school on the basis of his or her special educational needs. In line with the SEN and Disability Act, we will not discriminate against disabled children and will take all reasonable steps to provide effective educational provision. Please see the policy attached below for more details. For LAC or any other additional need please see the policy attached.
In year Admissions

Parents who require in school year admissions should contact the school in the first instance and the process of application will be explained to them. Applications are not normally accepted until four weeks prior to start date. The school is responsible for all applications and any subsequent appeals for places, admission is then determined using our oversubscription criteria contained within our admission policy and adheres to the DFE published schools appeals code. Further guidance on appeals can be found via the DFE link. A copy of the application form for a school place is listed below along with our appeals process.

September Intake
Parents wishing to start school in Reception should refer to starting school booklet issued by Cheshire West and Chester Council or visit the Councils website via the following link. Please also take time to read our admissions policy.
