Here Blakemere are enjoying some active maths whilst working on fractions! It was great to be out in the sunshine!

In maths this week we have been working extremely hard to solve problems. Looking at little tricks they include and how to spot patterns in answers. In the photo above the children are solving problems relating to fractions. They had to work in teams to collect different sporting images from the hoops outside, they then had to sort them into equivalent fractions to 1/2, 1/3 or a 1/4. I was so impressed with how they were able to work as a team to solve these problems!

In Literacy this week we finished The Promise story by Nicola Davies. The children thoroughly enjoyed the ending and have now begun to write their own stories based loosely on the theme in The Promise. Here the children are exploring their school surroundings and using their senses to gather information that will help them in their story planning process.

In computing this week the children continued to use Purple Mash, something which they love. This week they were learning how to send and receive emails. They were even looking to add attachments before they sent their messages to their friends in class.

In topic the children have been learning all about Climate Change and what Global Warming is. The children showed a real understanding of the problems that the world faces with the increase of temperate due to global warming. We specifically looked at how this impacts on animals such as polar bears in Antarctica.

I hope you all have a great weekend.
