Blakemere had great fun in Science this week investigating forces!

This week the children were able to use tennis balls and a ramp to see how the ball would roll on different surfaces. They needed to think about why the ball would roll much further on flatter and smoother surfaces such as the tarmac. They were able to record their findings accurately and explain to me why their investigation was fair, which is a key skill we have been working on.

Also this week we have been lucky enough to have a visit from author Daniel Morden who performed a number of stories to the children which they really enjoyed! Having an addition of a violin player really added to the story. The children are looking forward to possibly getting some signed books from him later.

In maths this week we have continued our work on measuring length; measuring in cm, m and mm. We have also had fun organising aliens into the right size order, this involved some converting of measurements to sort them correctly.

We have begun to work on our end of year production of "Beaty and the Beast" and I'm very impressed with how the children have been performing so far! Well done Blakemere!

Have a lovely weekend!
