Blakemere have been enjoying the spring sunshine during their break times this week!

Let's hope the sunshine lasts over the holidays and throughout the summer term so that we can make the most of the outdoor area to enhance our learning.

This week Blakemere have written their final drafts of Pablo Picasso's autobiography. They have worked incredibly hard to include facts they have researched and language features taught in grammar lessons. While in maths we have been looking at converting time between 12- and 24-hour formats and consolidating our time skills.

Looking back at the 'Red Beast' book, we have been identifying ways to regulate our emotional thermometers, relax, and tackle our worries. Ask the children to show you some of the strategies they have learned.

The highlight of the week appeared to be using the MacBooks to make artwork inspired by Piet Mondrian. Using 'numbers' the children learned how to add borders, colours and merge cells. Then, they chose their favourite three colours to recreate their own version of 'Composition II in Red, Blue and Yellow'.

A homework pack will be sent out tomorrow for the Easter break, please may this be completed and returned by Wednesday 24th April (the second week back). All resources will be added to the class homework page.

Finally, we are excited for the residential the first day back after the holidays! Please check all contact and medical details on Arbor are up to date. A medical form from the office must be completed for any medication required during the trip.

Have a lovely break!

Miss Wood and Mrs McGhie
