I am incredibly impressed with the work that Blakemere have produced this week!

Here in the pictures, you can see the children working hard to classify animals based upon their diet. The children are really enjoying their science topic. We will be looking at skeletons next week and seeing whether we can name all of the bones in our body.

We have come to the end of our place value topic in maths. In the pictures, you can see the children working hard to estimate where they think their number would be on a timeline. We have also been working on our reasoning skills and it is great to see the children becoming more confident in explaining the thinking behind their answers.

This week in Literacy, the children have been drafting their non-chronological reports about blue whales. The work that the children have produced so far is absolutely fantastic and they should all be very proud of themselves. The children have been able to include lots of interesting facts, fronted adverbials, expanded noun phrases and similes!

During our topic lesson, the children have been debating the question ‘should zoos be banned?’ It was excellent to hear the children considering both sides of the argument when they were forming their own opinion.

We had a lovely Harvest collective worship to finish off the week. Thank you for all of your generous donations!

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Lewis and Mrs Campbell.
