Blakemere had a fantastic time at the Museum of Science and Industry!

Whilst at the museum, the children were lucky enough to participate in a workshop about the solar system where they learned all about why the earth orbits the sun, how hot the sun gets and how rainbows are made. The children were so excited when they were given the opportunity to stand in a giant bubble to demonstrate the colours in a rainbow! The children were also fortunate enough to watch a demonstration in the textiles gallery where they got to see the big machinery in action. They were not very impressed by the offer of £2 to work at the mill! The science experiment floor was definitely a favourite amongst the children as they got to explore lots of hands-on activities. A big thank you to the parents who helped with the trip. Head over to twitter to see some more pictures and videos of the day!

In Literacy, the children have been debating deforestation and they have started to write a plan for their persuasive letter writing that they will begin to draft next week.

In maths, we have moved onto our multiplication and division topic. The children have been working so hard to master their 3, 4 and 8 times tables and should be very proud of themselves. Next week, we will be looking at missing number problems.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Lewis and Mrs Campbell.
