Blakemere were able to create artistic Stone Age timelines using cave drawings of their hands!

Blakemere have had a lovely first full week back in school. All of the team in Blakemere have been so impressed with the children, they have been working so hard and it's been great to see so many happy faces. The children have absolutely loved our Literacy work on The Iron Man by Ted Hughes, they have been able to come up with so many beautiful descriptions. We have also started our work on cursive handwriting, this is going to be a real focus this year.

In maths we have been working with multiples of 4, 8, 50 and 100. The children have been able to their knowledge of times tables to help them when solving the number sequences. Also in maths this week we have been looking at finding 10 or 100 more/less than any given number.

This week was also our first week of Italian with Mr Hunt, which they really enjoyed. Over the next few weeks they will begin to learn a range of useful words.

They have started their topic work on the Stone Age and were able to create a beautiful timeline for this. Finally, this afternoon, the children have been coding in Computing, learning how to create their own games.

Have a lovely weekend Blakemere!

Mr Huddart, Mrs Evans and Mrs Venables :)
