This week in Blakemere Class we visited the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port.

Although it was a wet, grey day we still had a good time! We went on a boat trip and learned about the history of the canal. We also attended a practical workshop that helped us find out what it was like to be a child in World War 2. We learned why it was so important to carry a gas mask at all times and what people had to do when there was an air raid. We visited a wartime house, did a spot of dressing-up, learned how to put out a fire and even went into an air raid shelter!

We also had an Art Day this week where we used our creative skills and our imagination to help decorate the classroom!
