Hatchmere really enjoyed their first singing lesson with Mr Jones.

Our singing lessons will take place every Tuesday before break time and is a fantastic opportunity for children to learn a new skill and understand more about music and their voices. Mr Jones was really impressed with their super behaviour and tuneful voices (which makes us excited for the Nativity!).

We begun our phonics lesson this week and have been learning the sounds /s/ /a/ and /t/ as well as focusing on recgonsing the beginning sounds of words. It's really beneficial for children to be able to hear and identify the initial sounds in words and is an easy activity to do at home with your child, it can be as simple as conversations about words or using flash cards.

This week Hatchmere also learnt peer massage techniques, these massage techniques can be used by each other to help improve calmness and concentration within the classroom. They also help children's wellbeing and allow them to learn new ways to manage their feelings and emotions. We will be taking part in optional peer massage session each day for 10 minutes.

Please see your child's reading journal for this weeks newsletter and a note in relation to the logistics to Hatchmere's first swimming lesson next week.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!
