This week in Hatchmere we've been on a 2D shape hunt around the school.

We worked in groups to search the outdoor areas and around the main school to look for different 2D shapes. We were really impressed with the children's shape knowledge and their ability to spot the shapes around school. As we looked for the shapes we created a tally chart and were able to talk about the most popular shapes and the shapes we saw the least. The children really enjoyed this activity, especially because they got to have a walk round the main building and a look at what the other children in the school were up to!

The 'Hatchmere homework' page of the website has been updated with an October half term activities, these optional tasks have been created for you to complete with your child over the week off. They are small activities that will hopefully link to family time and help your child consolidate some of the learning thats taken place over the first 8 weeks in school. if you choose to complete any of these activities please make sure to email photo evidence to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.to be included in your child's learning journey. Any artwork can be brought into school on the Monday we return.

We can't quite believe how quick the last 8 weeks have gone in school and how much progress each child has made already! We're so proud of how well the children have settled into life at Delamere and look forward to the next half term and the Christmas maddness! Thank you for all your support over the last half term. We hope you have a lovely restful week.

Miss Hume, Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Lathaen
