It has been a cold week, but Hatchmere made the most of the sunshine while it was out.

This week Hatchmere enjoyed a phonic word hunt using the outdoor area. This week we learned the graphemes 'oi, 'oo', 'oa' and the trigraph 'igh'. Everyone is working really hard to recognise these new graphemes when reading words. Some children have even found them in books while reading in the book corner.

We have also made the most of the outdoor area while it has been sunny this week. The children are very imaginative and love role-play and building with the mobilo. These activities encourages the development of good speaking and listening skills as well as team work.

In Little Chefs this week the children made delicious banana smoothies. They chopped their own banana and were suprised at the noisy blender. Everyone was excited to try the smoothie too!

We hope you've had a lovely weekend.
