Hatchmere loved their visit to SeaLife earlier this week.

On Wednesday, we visited Sea Life centre in Manchester. The children took part in a workshop to learn about some of the animals within the aquariums. Then they designed their own aquarium, selecting the animals they like best.

The rest of the day was spent exploring the maze of tanks filled with colourful fish, giant turtles and hungry sharks. I was amazed by the facts the children remembered from the morning session. A big thank you to all the helpers who volunteered on the visit.

This week has been assessment week, all children have been benchmarked over the past two weeks and a note of this is inside your child's reading record. Please note that this read has replaced normal reading with Miss Wood over the past two weeks. In addition, children have also been assessed against the graphemes we have learned in phonics. This will ensure planning is targeted to individual needs over the next half term.

We hope you have a brilliant half term and look forward to welcoming you back in a week!

Miss Wood, Mrs Lathaen and Mr Hunt
