This week Hatchmere have spent lots of time up at the forest area by the car park.

As the weather has been so warm it’s been lovely to seek shade under the trees. On Monday we went and did some mini shelter building in groups. Then on Wednesday we completed a leaf hunt using the leaves of the tress to identify the name of the tree. Finally, today we went and completed a mini beast hunt and a bird watching activity in small groups. It’s been great to have so much time outside in the school grounds and the immediate garden area of the classroom.

In phonics we have continued recapping our phase 3 trigraphs and practising reading longer ccvc and cvcc words inline with phase 4 objectives.

Next week we welcome back more of the Hatchmere children which will be lovely to see. We will be splitting into two bubbles and there will be changes to drop off and pick up times, please make sure you read all the information given out by school and stick to the timings as best you can. This is to stop any cross over of bubbles.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

The Hatchmere staff Team
