Today Hatchmere had a DT day, where they made moving Santas using split pins and a range of materials to form Santa's suit. The children were very proud of making a picture that had moving parts, they did a fantastic job! Please see our twitter feed for more pictures!

This week Hatchmere have been busy making patterns in maths. We were so impressed with the attention to detail when they created their own patterns and completed problem solving challenges of patterns already set. They used printing with shapes, numicon, lego bricks, and created tile art to form their own patterns!

Despite the rain, Hatchmere have been making the most of learning outside the classroom this week and enjoying their new canopy and outdoor classroom area!

The children welcomed Mrs Campbell into class this week, who gave them a very interesting talk on Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. The children were captivated from start to finish and loved looking at the replica examples of tools and clothing. The children even moved on to using animal print tissue paper to create their own Stone Age clothing.

Hatchmere have been very busy rehearsing for their Nativity. This will be filmed in Church next week and sent to Hatchmere families to enjoy!

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Birks, Mrs Inskip, Mr Hunt and Mrs Lathean
