After a fantastic summer we were lucky enough to start the term with a beautifully refurbished classroom. We have had the walls repainted and the flooring replaced. All the storage and shelving around the outsides has been updated. To top it all we have had our very own kitchen area fitted. The classroom looks amazing , please feel free to pop in and see how great it looks.

We have also started our new topic this week which is "What causes conflict and brings peace?" This will mainly focus on World War Two, we have been discussing what we already know and what we would like to find out more about. To get us started we have had the opportunity to handle some artefacts from WW2 including dog tags and ration books.

To coincide with this we have in literacy, begun to look at biographical recounts, as part of our topic on recounts, reports and explanations. We have been looking at Anne Frank and her diary and next week we hope to find out more, when we will get an opportunity to interview her ! ( Role play)

On Thursday we had a fun morning working with two very talented gentlemen from Key Strings. We learned all about the history of the music from ancient through to the modern day Olympics. The children got an chance to try out a huge range of different modern and ancient instruments and learn a huge variety of new musical vocabulary.

Next week will be even more exciting as we embark on our Canoeing Residential.
