This week we have continued with our journalism unit in our literacy lessons, focusing on the differences between fact and opinion. We have been looking at the varying styles of journalistic writing and have had a go at writing a short report. We have also looked at varying our sentence openers in our word and sentence level work.

We have also really enjoyed some very practical outdoor lessons looking at co-ordinates in maths (despite the urge to stay indoors!) The pupils are now using the skills they have learned in their co- ordinates lesson and are applying it to reflecting and rotating shapes.

In science the topic is 'Keeping Healthy' and the children have been outside investigating the effect of exercise on their pulse rates.

We saw the wonderful work that some of our class members produced over last week's art weekend and heard plenty of disco dancing tales too!

In our Topic work, we have been looking at 'What makes a Record Breaker". So far we have discussed what attributes we need to be successful and have linked this to the Olympic motto 'Citius, Altius, Fortius' meaning, 'Faster, Higher, Stronger'.Using this as starting point, Linmere have created their own goals and have written down something that they would like to achieve by the end of May. Hopefully they can share their achieved goals in our sharing assembly!

We have also been busy learning about the six Olympic Values and have entered a competition to design three medals representing Respect, Excellence and Friendship. Good Luck Linmere, they are looking good!!!
