Lots of outdoor learning in Nunsmere class.

In literacy this week, Nunsmere class have been focusing on poetry and different types of poems. We focused on haikus and writing our own, following the rules and structure and linking them to nature. The children wanted to put a Delamere twist on their haikus, so we spent lots of time outside the classroom gathering inspiration and writing our haikus in the sunshine. Once edited and perfected, the children performed their haikus to the rest of the class, focusing on their speaking and listening skills.

In our maths work we have finished our topic on measurement, recapping area and perimeter as well as focusing on mass and weight.

In science we learnt about how to stay safe around the home when it comes to electricity, thinking about some useful tips that will help us to understand when electricity can become dangerous.

We completed our local area powerpoints in our topic work, adding in as much information about our local area as possible, as well as learning some new computing skills such as how to add transitions.

Have a lovely week off
