Wow... what a week! Nunsmere have had a very busy last week of term. On Tuesday, Nunsmere visited our local hillfort - Eddisbury Hillfort.

We walked to the hillfort from school and stopped along the way at various areas of the fort. The children especially loved standing along the ancient rampart pretending to defend the hillfort from an enemy attack! The children loved learning lots of interesting information from Mrs Campbell, who is an expert on hillforts! Mrs Campbell was involved in the original archaeological dig on this site about 10 years ago, so had an abundance of knowledge to share.

On Wednesday, Nunsmere had their Learning Outside the Classroom day. This was a fantastic day full of many great activities including: team building, knife wielding, marshmellow roasting, den building and cave-painting. The children absolutely loved it and we were fortunate that the weather stayed mostly dry, only a quick shower at the end of the day!

Nunsmere also joined in with an 'AmaSing' virtual concert on Monday. Over 6000 schools took part and we enjoyed lots of live music, dancing and performances from groups including House of Dance and The West End. The children loved joining in on their air guitar during the Queen medley!

In literacy the children have been writing their story narrative for our literacy text, I have loved reading all their fantastic pieces. In maths we have been continuing our focus on addition and subtraction. During our science lessons we have continued our learning on threatened species and the children have represented endangered animals data in a bar chart.

Wishing everyone a restful and happy half term,

Miss Bate and Mrs Campbell
