On Wednesday Oakmere performed an assembly in front of the whole school and two special guests; Reverend Elaine and The Bishop of Chester!

As you can see from the photograph, Oakmere stood with pride as they showed their artwork to everyone in the assembly and spoke with clear voices.  Mr Ashworth and I were so proud of them!  Bishop Peter came into the classroom after the assembly to thank them all personally for a wonderful assembly.  Later that day we had another special guest; baby Liam came to say hello to us!  As you can imagine, the children beamed with excitement to see Miss Wood, Lee and beautiful Liam.  The class performed their assembly in the classroom for Miss Wood to see and those children who didn’t get to speak in the hall had the opportunity to speak in front of Miss Wood.

Today was the Easter Service at the church with Reverend Elaine.  The children sang beautifully and enjoyed listening to Reverend Elaine and some Year 6 children about the Easter story.  This afternoon was the famous Easter egg roll at Delamere!  We had the best time!  Well done to all of you for taking part in the egg roll and for taking the time to put together a Commonwealth Games themed egg for the competition. Thank you.

We wish you all a wonderful and restful Easter together and look forward to seeing you at the start of the final Oakmere term of the year!  Homework has been sent home already, but if you need a new copy of the Radio Times front cover it is available on the Oakmere Homework section of the website.

If you are looking for more to do with the children this Easter, BBC KS1 Bitesize have a game called penguins on ice that they really enjoyed playing on Monday!

Happy Easter!

Mrs Birks and Mr Ashworth
