Another busy week for Oakmere....

This week has been assessment week so the children have been busy completing tasks and we have been benchmarking, this will continue next week. In literacy the children have been implementing their grammar and sentence knowledge into their independent writing about aliens. They have designed their own alien and have written adjectives and descriptions in preparation for writing a version of 'We're going on an alien hunt'.

In maths we have been continuing with base ten and tens and ones and testing their knowledge so far on number and place value.

This week the children have also enjoyed learning about harvest and as a class we wrote a lovely prayer which some children shared in assembly. They were very confident and read clearly. Well done!

In topic we have explored hieroglyphics and the children have written their names using the Ancient Egyptian language. They all tried extremely hard as this is not an easy task to do and the final pieces look good.

Thank you for the creative homework that I have had in so far, they are amazing! Reminder they are due in on Wednesday to share with the class.

Also a huge thank you to the parents that were able to help with Oakmere's tuck shop tonight, it was very successful and I could not have done it without them. Thank you:)

Have a lovely weekend
