Oakmere loved their trip to Storyhouse!

Oakmere met a lovely team from Storyhouse yesterday and took part in exciting drama workshops!  They began with warm up exercises with Year 2 and really enjoyed working together as a team.  Oakmere's morning workshop was about using freeze frames in small groups, copying a photograph of a holiday scene.  The children then moved onto bringing those freeze frames to life when prompted.  We were so impressed! Please check our School twitter to see examples of the day.

At lunch time, the children relaxed in the den and commented on the lovely books and posters all around.  In the afternoon, we continued using our imagination skills to become part of an enchanted forest.  The Storyhouse team were very impressed with the children's acting skills, thank you Storyhouse for a fantastic trip!

In Maths, we have continued with our multiplication work, grouping objects into fives.  In literacy we have been writing about our Storyhouse trip, remembering to use adjectives, capital letters and full stops.

On Tuesday there will be a phonics meeting after school (3.15pm), to talk about the Phonics Screening Test this Summer.  If you are unable to attend, I will pack a handbook in your child's book bag for you to look through.

Wishing you a sunny weekend,

Mrs Birks, Mrs Jones and Mr Ashworth.
