This week Oakmere have been looking at the properties of 3d shapes.

Oakmere loved the challenge of investigating the number of faces, edges and vertices on each shape.  This brought fantastic discussions in the classroom and the children continued their shape investigations in the playground, school hall and on the field too.

Oakmere have started writing poems in class and are starting to see the many types of poems there are; some that rhyme and some that don't.  We played clapping games on the carpet to measure the syllable patterns in words, to help understand how to make their poems flow when creating our class rhyming poem.

The Bank Holiday weather was a special treat for us all last weekend and this week we witnessed heavy storms and hail!  What will this week bring!

We hope you had a wonderful weekend,

Mrs Birks, Mrs Jones and Mr Ashworth.
