This week Oakmere had their Phonics Screening Check!

The children were all incredible and we were very proud of them all!  Oakmere always enjoy their daily phonics activities in class, thank you to all the families for your support to practise words at home.  Next week Benchmarking will begin, please continue to read with your child.  It's important to ask your child questions at the end of the text to make sure they understand what they've read as well as be able to read the words.

In Literacy we have started learning about what happens at the Airport, this will support our school trip to Manchester Airport on Monday 8th July.  If any parents are available to help on that day please come in and speak to us!   Next week Mrs Carroll will be talking to the children about what it's like to work on an aeroplane.

In Maths we have been strengthening our understanding of positions and directions.  We took part in a partner activity where one person gave the instruction to move one quarter turn, a half turn and a three quarter turn to the left or right and the other person had to follow the instruction!

We hope it's a sunny weekend!
