Don't they look smart!

We have been so impressed with the children's behaviour this week: very well behaved and all eager to learn and get stuck back into school life again!  The children have adapted really well already to working at a table using books and all feel very proud of themselves!

This week we have been busy working on our number and place value skills, lots of phonics and CARE work.  CARE is where we focus on our well being and the well being of people around us.  This week the children came up with fantastic class rules for Oakmere to ensure we value and respect each other in School.

Reading books and spelling books have been sent home.  Reading books are changed on Mondays and Thursdays and spelling tests take place on Fridays with new spellings sent home the same day.

A homework grid will be put onto the Oakmere homework section of the website from Monday.  Please read through the six pieces of homework and choose one piece for each week.  The first piece of homework will be due on Wednesday 18th September and every Wednesday after that date.

On Thursday 12th September, a short meeting will take place after school in the classroom.  This is an opportunity for the Oakmere team to say hello and discuss what takes place in Year 1.  It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions.

Well done Oakmere, you have all been brilliant this week, we look forward to another week with you!
