Oakmere prepared and ate a traditional dish from Kenya!

Oakmere worked together to make Kachumbari and Chapatis.  The children carefully chopped the red peppers and tomatoes into small chunks and stirred in lemon juice to make the Kachumbari.  Mr Ashworth demonstrated how to make Chapatis using a hot pan.  The children commented on the delicious smells, colours and taste of the food.  Each child tasted the snack and I was very happy to see so many empty plates!

On Tuesday the School explored a Hindu Festival, Holi.  Oakmere and Hatchmere spent the afternoon together to learn more about the festival of colour.  Here you can see some examples of the children creating beautiful artwork.

A very fun and busy week!

Mr Bell has now started his teaching placement in Oakmere and will be with us until the end of June. Thank you for making him feel so welcome.
