Oakmere used the sunny days wisely this week!

In Science the children loved learning about shadows.  As well as drawing shadows on paper, they also studied the movement of shadows over the school day and recorded their findings.  Oakmere also took part in shadow puppet play and loved telling stories with their puppets!  Great work Oakmere!

In Literacy, Oakmere have worked very hard with their phonics work and cursive handwriting, all getting ready for new adventures in Sandymere.  The children loved creating leaflets of their favourite destinations this week and used excellent persuasive language to go and visit! In Maths, the children had fun building 3d shapes using dried spaghetti and mini marshmallows, I was really impressed with how sturdy the shapes were.  The children were very precise with their spaghetti measurements!

In amongst the heavy rain showers, we also had beautiful sunny days. The children loved going up to the forest to build shelters in groups, using sticks and leaves to build the structures. An exciting week, well done Oakmere!

Have a lovely weekend,
