Oakmere have been busy concentrating on their fine motor skills!

This week Oakmere had the pleasure of watching an art demonstration video by local artist Ronnie Drillsma on how to draw flamingos.  Each child took their time to carefully create a stunning piece of art, we love them!  Ronnie was due to visit us this term and is excited to come to our school on another date.  We look forward to meeting her.

In Literacy, we made fact files based on a research project available on the Natural History Museum website.  The children were fascinated by the work that goes into finding dinosaur bones all around the World!  We were really impressed with their excellent writing skills throughout and gripped from start to finish reading their work.  Well done Oakmere!

In Maths we have been learning about positions and directions.  One of the activities was to produce a treasure map to find the magical treasure!  The attention to detail was fantastic, adding landmarks and clues to help the person find the treasure.  As well as this, the children wrote a list of instructions using positions and directions for the map.

Have a lovely weekend,

Oakmere team
