This week, the children have been remembering the brave people and animal who served in our armed forces.

On Wednesday, the children watched a wonderful collective worship delivered by Mrs Garner which explained the significance of Remembrance day and why we have a 2 minute silence. The children completed some lovely artwork afterwards to help them reflect.

The children took part in their safer internet day this week. We learned the acronym 'SMART' to help us to remember how we can stay safe online. Afterwards, we used a search engine to safely find images and practised logging in to PurpleMash.

It has been assessment week this week and the children have worked incredibly hard. The results from these assessments will help to inform us of your child's future learning and the support we need to put in place. However, we have still ensured that we have had lots of fun! The children have completed lots of artwork in their sketch books and have made Stone Age necklaces in our Topic lesson. For Children In Need, the house captains set a fun dancing challenge for the whole school to get involved in. Oakmere loved learning the dance moves and had lots of fun! Check our twitter page to see a video.

After learning about the different features that birds have, the children went outside in our science lesson and did some bird watching.

As a nice treat to end the week, the children also enjoyed some time on the play equipment!

Thank you to everyone who booked in a parents evening. Although it is a shame that we were unable to complete these face-to-face due to the current situation, it was so lovely to speak to you all.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Miss Lewis and Mrs Carroll
