Oakmere have finished their first term of year 1!

We can't quite believe how quickly this term has flown by. We are so incredibly proud of everything the children have achieved. Their confidence has soared and the progress they have made is fantastic.

We have definitely been getting into the Christmas spirit this week. We had such a magical start to the week when Father Christmas visited us. It was absolutely wonderful seeing the excitement and joy on the children's faces as they walked through the snow to meet him!

We also shared our Christmas Nativity with you this week which we hope you all enjoyed watching. Although it was very different this year, the children should all be very proud of themselves for learning all of their songs (and even learning some sign language!). Thank you for all of the lovely comments that were shared with us.

In our lessons, we have been making many links to Christmas. In Literacy, the children watched Mog's Christmas calamity and enjoyed writing about the mischief that Mog had been getting up to! In our R.E. lesson, we re-told the Nativity story by making a storyboard. We also explored the meaning of Christingle and the children had a go at making one of their own. Throughout the week, we have also been doing some christmas crafts and we even watched a pantomine.

The Oakmere team would like to thank all of the parents for the lovely cards, well wishes and the generous gift that we received. We are very grateful. Thank you!

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a lovely New Year.

Miss Lewis, Mrs Carrol and Miss Seery.
