It has been another successful week of home learning for Oakmere!

A mysterious parcel arrived for Oakmere this week. After opening it (and Miss Lewis looking a bit silly trying on the hat and cape!), we discovered there was a spell book, hat, cape, a pair of golden scissors and some blonde hair inside. As a class, we inferred that it must have been sent by a witch or a wizard! It has been fantastic to see how engaged the children have been in our Literacy sessions. The children all contributed some brilliant ideas on how they think Rapunzel might escape from the wicked witch and built some excellent towers!  We will be continuing to explore 'Rapunzel' by Bethan Woolvin over the next couple of weeks.

In maths, the children have been working hard to compare and order 2 digit numbers. They have really impressed us by challenging themselves to use equality symbols as these can be quite confusing (even for us adults!). Next week, we will be looking at counting in 5s, 10s and exploring arrays.

In our afternoon sessions, we have been labelling continents, reflecting on the parable of the mustard seed and learning how and when to ring 999. We have had some wonderful pieces of work sent in with the children reflecting on what small action they could do that could turn into something even greater.

Once again, we have been incredibly impressed with everyone's positive attitudes to learning. A really big thank you to all of the adults too as we know it can be tricky to juggle your own responsibilities as well as supporting your children. Your support is greatly appreciated.

We hope you all manage to have a lovely. restful weekend after a busy week,

Miss Lewis, Mrs Carroll and Miss Seery
