The children have had a wonderful week!

On Monday, some mysterious objects turned up in the classroom. The children had a close look and made lots of great inferences! They thought that the objects may have been kept in an attic, shed or garage as they looked dusty. They decided that the objects must be old as the toys looked different to the ones that they had at home and many of them were broken. Later on in the week, the children explored the soldiers' thoughts and feelings through some role play.

In maths, we have been consolidating the children's knowledge of counting. We have used numicon, 100 squares, number lines, cubes and counters to help us. The children also had a go at using their reasoning skills to sort objects and pictures into groups and to then count them.

In our CARE lesson this week, we have been thinking about the different emotions that we might experience and talking about ways in which we can cheer ourselves up if we are feeling sad or calm ourselves down if we are feeling angry. In R.E, the children read our school bible quote and discussed what it meant to them.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed their swimming lesson this week and are looking forward to going again already! They were very well behaved and impressed us all with their great attitudes.

It has been a very busy week for the children and they have had to get used to new routines in Oakmere and so understandably, many of them are very tired and looking forward to having a good sleep over the weekend! We hope you all have a lovely, restful two days and hopefully the children will all come back feeling refreshed for the new week ahead!
