Oakmere have worked so hard in assessment week this week. Phonic assessments, maths assessments and reading...well done to you all for trying so hard to show what you can do and thanks to all the parents who are coping with the tired little brains.

We really enjoyed a break from assessments in Science where we brainstormed ideas to keep Fizzy fit and healthy. We talked about the importance of sleep, healthy choices and a balanced diet and lots of exercise. We then took turns to do keep fit in the hall with Mr Ashworth (checking for changes in our breathing and heart rate) and making up our own healthy pitta pockets, enjoying a healthy snack with Mrs Williams. It was lovely to see Miss Spence back from London when we went on our quest to find 'describing words'. We linked our science and literacy to have a fun filled, hands on, sensory lesson that allowed us to explore all of our 5 senses, whilst finding words to describe what we experienced. We also worked in pairs to negotiate around the classroom whilst being blind folded and came up with some fantastic adjectives to describe what we could feel and hear.

We hope you all have a lovely half term. Enjoy your break and we look forward to hearing all your news soon.
