The Academy goes 'above and beyond' with art, with many professional artists visiting the school to provide expert tuition in how to work with a variety of media, techniques and themes. Whole school Art Days are a common feature, so that our pupils gain the opportunity to focus on bigger projects and really express their creative side.

The teaching of music at the Academy is based upon the fact that it is a creative and social art, something to be enjoyed. Children have the opportunity to enjoy musical experiences through singing, instrumental lessons, movement, dance and musical performances. Across the school children take part in regular singing sessions and assemblies, often working towards performances such as the latest production of 'Joseph'. Peripatetic music teachers visit school on a regular basis to provide instrumental lessons such as violin, keyboard and guitar to name a few. In addition to this, we employ a class teacher with a music specialism, offering singing lessons to all the children in the school and who leads the choir.

Drama and performance play a prevalent part within Academy life. With a focus on self-esteem and confidence building, our children learn the skills to confidently perform – whether it is the courage to talk in assembly or to perform in a production. In the past our pupils have benefitted in the past from weekly workshop sessions with a trained actress and get the opportunity to learn and practice skills that will serve our pupils later in life. In the past children in KS2 have also had the opportunity and have successfully achieved (with either a pass, merit or distinction) a LAMDA award. This highly recognisable award is extremely difficult to achieve.

Rivalling most of the well-known drama schools, our Academy offers an hour each of singing, acting and dancing tuition within our curricular timetable per week. In addition to this, after-school clubs are available if there is a particular flair.
