We've had another busy week in Pickmere class!

The children have moved onto their topic of measurement with Miss Dodd in maths this week.

They have been converting between different units of metric measure, using approximate equivalences between metric and imperial units and have even moved on to finding the perimeter of composite rectilinear shapes. They used the macbooks to find the perimeter of composite rectilinear shapes using Purple Mash!

They have continued with their persuasive writing in literacy and have even planned a letter to write to the supermarkets to persuade them to reduce their use of plastic! This links in very well with our current topic 'How can we make the world a better place?'

In science the children have been investigating which materials are the best electrical conductors - they tested this by seeing which materials made the bulb brighter!

We have focused on poverty and hunger in topic this week, learning about what poverty is and discussing the Global Goals to stop poverty by the year 2030.

The children have continued with their dance routine in PE this week, which is looking super!

Have a lovely weekend
