Pickmere had a brilliant time at the Liverpool Mosque, the oldest mosque in Europe.

We were welcomed by Imam Abu Usama who was truly inspiring in the way he spoke to the children and shared his knowledge of the faith. Formerly a Imam from Brooklyn in New York, he was full of information and humour for the children. They took so much away from the visit and this showed in their produced work in class. Abu Usama even wrote an email to the school saying how impressed he was with all of the children! Well done Pickmere!

Also as part of this day we visited Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and what a beautiful place it is. You couldn't help but be impressed with the architecture of the cathedral. The children we treated to a really fun and exciting behind the scenes tour of the cathedral. Once again, we had a email from a member of staff from the cathedra explaining how brilliant our children were, this is always so nice to hear!

Yesterday we were treated to a fantastic visit from the USA 7's rugby team!!! The children were able to observe an assembly, ask questions and then go out and watch them train. This was brilliant fun and interesting to see how professionals train and work.

In our written work this week we have really focused on Tutankhamun (which they have absolutely loved). They are now going to be writing a report on him and his life. In maths we have been looking at rounding to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 and 10000. Working with numbers past 1,000,000 once again.

I hope you have a brilliant weekend!
