Pickmere had the best time taking part in a musical masterclass lead by Key Strings!

To support our work on 'How Do We Celebrate Difference' which is an arts through history topic, we invited in Key Strings to perform for the children. The performance displays musical string instruments as they have moved through the ages; spanning from the medieval period, right up to the modern day. It was lovely to the children so enthusiastic, laughing along and taking part in the magical story they perform.

In topic this week we moved into the Middle Ages. The children learned about illuminated medieval manuscripts, how they were made and decorated. They recorded all of the information they had learned and then had a go ay illumination their own medieval letter (the first letter of their name).

In school this week it has been our 'assessment week' and the children have been working extremely hard. I have been extremely impressed with their work ethic and concentration throughout each set task. We will share the results of these in parents evening very soon.

It has also been our residential information night for parents. Should you want to know anymore, please don't hesitate to speak to either of us.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
