Pickmere looked fantastic this week dressed up for our 'aliens and space' theme!

To go along with this World Book Day fancy dress, the children also took part in a range of activities and loved a mystery maths pack that went along with this. The activities didn't stop there, the children were also treated to a reading workshop with author Damian Harvey.

In Literacy the children have finished their extended writing for 'The Hunter' story. I was so impressed with the effort that the children had put in and the level at which they were writing. Well done Pickmere!

We also had a KS2 cooking day this week. As part of our topic 'how do we celebrate difference?', we are exploring different cultures. This week, KS2 made dishes from different cultures. Year 3 focused on Italian cooking, Year 4 Indian, Year 5 Mexican and Year 6 Polish. Pickmere class enjoyed learning about how to make fajitas and loved adding their own dips! They smelt delicious!

In topic this week, we moved into the Baroque period. We explored the music of Handel, Bach and Vivaldi. There were lots of cries of "Oh, I know that one."

Have a lovely weekend!
