A great start to the week with all children in Pickmere getting a blue certificate for producing some fantastic Nelson Mandela autobiographies.

Also, in literacy, children have been writing a newsroom script in relation to Nelson Mandela’s release from prison. Using an iPad and green screen, we have been able to record these. The children and I were really impressed with the results.

In maths, we have been looking at square and cube numbers. Pickmere have done really well to grasp such a tricky mathematical concept in just under a week!

On Thursday, we were lucky enough to be treated to a maths workshop, which was led by ‘Explore Learning’. The children had to guide their guests around the museum. Along the way they were challenged to find routes that equated to the most and least amount of points!

On a final note, Christmas play practise is well under way ahead of Wednesdays performance. If your child has not yet brought in their Christmas jumper, which they will be wearing during the performance, please can these be brought in Monday morning. Thank you for those that have already brought their Christmas jumpers in.

We hope you all have a lovely end to your week.

Miss Wild
