Pickmere had a lovely time visiting St. Peter’s Church this week. We had a wonderful chat with Reverend Angela, and all sang our ‘Harvest Rock and Roll’ song wonderfully.

During our topic lessons this week we have started to research Stonehenge. We combined our MacBook slot with our topic lesson, and we wrote postcards based on an imaginary trip to Salisbury. We then had great fun creating our very own replica of Stonehenge using custard creams and bourbon biscuits!

This week we have also celebrated ‘Number’s Day’. We created some timetables spirals and investigated the patterns of the different timetables. Then we had a go at designing and budgeting for a flying machine. We purchased various items using our budget, whilst trying to not overspend! Not overspending was definitely the main challenge of todays activity.

In literacy we are in the process of finishing our newspaper articles. The children in Pickmere are like walking encyclopaedias at the moment– full of Skara Brae knowledge and information! Their knowledge and understanding really is wonderful.

Next week we have two trips taking place. Eddisbury Hill on the Tuesday and Delamere Forest on the Friday. Please can children wear appropriate clothing and footwear for each of these trips. For both trips, children come to school as normal. All children will need to bring a packed lunch on Friday.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Miss Wild and Mr Ashworth
