Along with the rest of the school Sandymere had a visit from Chester Zoo’s Safari rangers this afternoon!

Our session was called “African Animals’ we learnt all about where African animals live, how they survive and got to look at some really interesting artefacts linking to the topic. It was a brilliant workshop linking to our science topic and the children really enjoyed it!

This week we’ve continued to learn about space, the lesson focus for this week was “living in space”. We learnt how astronauts live in space and answered the children’s most asked question… how astronauts go to the toilet in space! It’s a fantastic topic being enjoyed by everyone.

Today we also did a calming activity using watercolours to paint our own planets, we’ve had a busy week so it was nice to have some quiet time before lunch.

Thank you to all those children who are bringing in homework each week, it’s fantastic to see your learning continuing at home. A reminder that homework and spelling are due in on a Friday. If you would like to see your child’s spelling book they are by the door of the classroom.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

Miss Hume & Mrs Garner
