This week, with it being the start of December, Sandymere have been learning about the meaning of Advent for Christians.

We learnt about the definition of Advent and the origins of the word. The children then thought about special events that happen during Advent, such as decorating the Christmas tree or going to Church. Following this the children learnt about a 'reverse advent calendar' and how this comprises of doing things for other people and spreading kindness. In their books the children came up with a 'kindness advent' calendar and thought of ways to help others in the run up to Christmas.

This week we've been busy rehearing our nativity, it's really coming together now and the children are getting very excited to perform it to the rest of the school on Tuesday and of course parents and family on Wednesday. We're so proud of how hard the children are working to get the performance ready, it's sound amazing!

If you haven't already, please provide your child with the correct costume for the performance on Wednesday.

On Wednesday it is also our crib service held at St Peter's Church which is always a lovely service and leaves everyone feeling very festive!

We hope you've had a lovely weekend.
