It’s been another busy week to end the half term in Sandymere.

How quick has this half term gone? It only feels like last week that we went came back from Christmas! This point in the year means we are officially half way through the academic year.

We’ve been completing assessments this week in Sandymere, we’ll share the outcome of these at parents evening in March. The children have worked really hard and it’s a great ecperience for them to see practise SATs papers and practising sitting them in test conditions.

We’ve also been busy with Internet safety day on Tuesday; we created posters on how to stay safe when using devices that have the Internet.

Today we have made heart shaped biscuits and decorated them as a treat for working so hard in the assessments and a way of celebrating Valentines day. Although the children didn’t seem too keen on sharing their biscuit creation with a Valentine, they wanted to eat them instead!

After half term we have a trip to Reaseheath Collage to see the Ring-tailed lemurs they have there. The date for this trip has been changed to Tuesday 10th March, the second Tuesday back in school.

All parents should have received a letter outlining the 500 word challenge we’re hosting in school over the next few weeks. The half term homework for next week is to write their 500 word story and type it up ready to be sent into school. We’re looking forward to reading all your fantastic stories!

We hope you have a lovely restful half term!
