It’s been a great week this week; the children have all worked really hard.

In literacy this week we’ve been focusing on using capital letters and full stops correctly. The children have all been trying really hard with this as well as their presentation and handwriting in their literacy books.

In maths we’ve started our place value topic and have been looking at reading and writing numbers to 100. There was some fantastic group work on Wednesday to match the words to the numerals.

In topic this week we learnt about the importance of fire for Stone Age people and how this allowed them to cook food, have light and keep predators away from their homes. We went onto the field and made our own replica campfires in groups, this was another example of fantastic group work as the children work collaboratively together to build their campfire. We hope to create some real campfires this term!

Thank you to all those families who ‘zoomed” in on our curriculum evening last night, it was an odd way to deliver a curriculum evening but I hope you found it useful.

The homework is now live on Google Classroom as well as on MyMaths. There has been a slight delay with PurpleMash due to transferring the children over to their new classes. The 2Do will be set by Monday for this half terms homework. A reminder that homework is due on a Friday and spelling tests are also on a Friday. The first spelling test will be a week today.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

Miss Hume, Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Dodd
