Sandymere have been busy again, as always!

This week we really enjoyed our visit to St Peter’s church to meet Reverend Angela and learn more about how harvest is celebrated in church. Today in RE we wrote a prayer about what we had learnt.

In literacy this week we’ve been so impressed with the children’s writing that they all took a blue certificate home! We finished sequencing the story and have started to look at diary entries. We’ll be writing our own diary entry next week.

In maths we’re continuing to look at place value and today we took part in some practical activities looking understanding more about two-digit numbers. The children really enjoy working in groups and always impress staff with their ability to work together so well.

In topic this week we looked at what had been left behind from the Stone Age and we focused on Stonehenge. The children created some artwork and wrote some facts that we learnt. If you’ve ever been to Stonehenge please do send us some pictures via email.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

Miss Hume, Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Dodd
