This week the children have been working really hard during assessment week and all of the Sandymere staff have been so proud of them!

This week the children took part in assessment week and worked really hard to complete past papers. This is a great opportunity for the children to understand the format of the assessments in year 2. They have all worked really hard and we’re so impressed with them. Next week the children will be taking part in their phonics screening assessment and we will be sharing their scores the following week via email.

This week has been assessment week but it hasn’t stopped the practical and hands on activities, the children have been playing addition bingo, analysing recipes and creating key vocabulary pages in their topic books. The children also created a beautiful piece of art work in their sketch books to commemorate this years Remembrance Day. We also had a collective worship focusing on Parables delivered by Reverend Angela. Oh and remember to check on twitter for our Children In Need dancing!

It was lovely to speak to parents this week over the phone and give you an update on how well the children have settled into life in Sandymere and how hard they have all been working. Hopefully the next parents evening will be in school and you will have the chance to look at the children’s hard work in their books.

A big well done to all the children’s who have handed homework in this week. The children have been told they can bring in their habitat homework on the week they complete them, please bring them in on the Friday and the children will have a chance to show their friends at the end of the day.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

Miss Hume, Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Dodd
