Sports Update 14/06/19

This week we have been taking part in The British Nutrition Foundation Healthy Eating Week. BNF Healthy Eating Week is a dedicated week in the year to encourage organisations across the UK to focus on healthy eating and drinking, and physical activity, and to celebrate healthy living.

Sports Update 07/06/19

Unfortunately, due to the unseasonal wet weather both a football and athletics event was cancelled this week. Despite there being no sports competitions the children have still been busy in PE lessons. Hatchmere and Oakmere have both been busy developing their racket skills in tennis.

Sports Update 17/05/19

It has been a very busy week of school sports events this week particularly for our infants. On Wednesday, we hosted the KS1 tag-rugby competition for the Academy Trust schools. This was a fantastic event with nearly 70 children from seven schools taking part in some friendly competition. All the children from each school played fantastically well and improved with each game. Also a special mention to our Year 6 Sports Leaders who helped to run the event and officiated the games with great confidence.

Sports Update 10/05/19

This week some our of children in Blakemere took part in the North West Academies Trust Swimming Gala at Ellesmere Primary. This was a fantastic event with our children taking part in a number of individual and team relay races against other schools within our Trust. The quality of swimming from all schools was excellent with only 6 points separating fourth and first place.

Sports Update 03/05/19

In PE this week our infant classes have been enjoying taking part in rugby where they have been learning to run with the ball, pass and how to score a try. Blakemere and Nunsmere again took part in a rugby league session delivered by the Warrington Wolves and Pickmere and Linmere have been developing their overarm bowling technique in cricket.
