Dear Parents and Carers                                                                 Friday 7 June 2019

Welcome back to our very last half term of the academic year. This year has flown by and unbelievably we only have 6 weeks left before finish for the summer.

This week Linmere took part in an excellent safety session at Crucial Crew, held at the Northwich Memorial Hall.  They learnt about water safety, safe behaviour around dogs, first aid, keeping healthy, staying safe at the train track, staying safe online and various other ways to keep themselves safe.  It was a really informative afternoon and the children learnt a lot and enjoyed the experience.

On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of inviting the author of 'The Beehive', Simon Adeptun to school.  He delivered a range of workshops to each class in school and we also learnt about the process of becoming an author in his whole school assembly.  His most important message to the children was that they should never give up.

Sandymere had a wonderful time on Wednesday morning. They spent the morning in Pizza Express learning about how to make pizzas and learning about a wide range of ingredients. Each child made their very own pizza, which they all tucked into for lunch.

Unfortunately, all of our planned sporting events had to be cancelled this week because of the weather. Fingers crossed for a better week next week.

Today, we held a very special collective worship. This was a farewell for Reverend Elaine, who is retiring this week. Reverend Elaine has been a huge support to the school, the staff and all of our pupils. As well as running our very successful and always over subscribed Messy Church, Elaine has served on our school Governing body and on the board of NWAT (North West Academy Trust). We will all miss her very much and our collective worship was a way to say a great big thank you.

Tickets are now available for the PTA’s annual Beer and Gin Festival. Tickets are in high demand and sell quickly. These can be purchased on Eezee Trip.

Can we once again remind you all to drive and park sensibly; we have had local residents commenting about parents driving at speed along Stoney Lane and Watling Drive. Also we still have parents parking at the junction of Stoney Lane and A556 Chester Road. Please be considerate and remember children can be dropped off from 8.35am until 8.50am each morning.

Have a lovely weekend.
